Job Summary

Job Description

• To design polymer molecular structures in accordance with desired LLDPE properties as well as to predict the properties of polymers from their designed molecular structures.
• Collaborate closely with Polymer Developers, Catalyst Developers, and the Polymerization Team to develop appropriate polymer designs that achieve desired application performance for LLDPE. Provide advice and training to team members.
• Having a clear understanding and practical ability to apply Digitalization or statistical methods within the scope of Polymer Design for developing LLDPE
• Co-develop R&D strategy, plan activities, allocate resources (including budget and manpower), and set targets as part of the advanced analytical science test service and R&D arms. This supports corporate, downstream, and upstream innovations, as well as GC business and its subsidiaries, ensuring successful execution.
• Enhance GC’s expertise and network in Polyolefin polymer design for LLDPE development.
• Work closely with the Polymer Characterization team to ensure world-class capability, network, and understanding.
• Mentor, guide, and train junior team members.

Job Qualification

Education

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, chemical technology, petrochemical technology, polymer science, or a related field.

Experience

• Expertise in the relationship between polyolefin structure and performance especially in LLDPE.
• Required expertise in LLDPE design for leading applications.
• Over 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
