Major Responsibilities

1. Initiative and innovative for process control application

     • To support Process Control Manager in searching new technologies and best practices for control applications, including base layer control, APC, Operator training simulator, oil movement system and online optimization for applying within PTTGC to improve company margin.

     • To continuously make an improvement in process control. Identify new opportunities to initiate new or improve control applications that enhance profitability and reliability.

2. Monitor and Maintain Process Control Application

     • To develop and maintain base layer control, advanced process control applications, Operator training simulator, online optimization and other process control related applications as well as identifying new applications

     • Prepare and maintain Process Control, Advanced Process Control and Emergency Shutdown Narratives.

     • Do Process Control Report to inform management about process control performance

3. Operation Support / Project Support • Provide support to various department and divisions to ensure that operation of the process control systems do not violate any limits set for the plant(s) and comply with any process safety requirements

     • Advise and provide Day to Day operation support for base layer control, APC, safeguarding, Operator training simulator, online Optimiser and other process control related applications

     • Participate in incident investigation that could have a contributor or involvement from the process control application or where the process control application could effective contribute to the investigation process

     • Support process unit commissioning and startup.

     • Being knowledgeable about the control systems hardware and software (including their capabilities and limitations). Share this knowledge to other, especially operation people to make them understand on how to utilize Process Control Applications effectively.

4. Project/modification Support

     • Provide support to company’s major projects and plant modification projects(MOC/TSR)

     • The work scope covers process control design, implementation, commissioning and startup

     • Be MOC champion

     • Participate in HAZOP/IPF

5. Process Control Project Management

     • Support base layer process control modification project

     • Support advance process control project. Involve in the development, including design, step test, Modeling and commissioning.

     • Support online optimization project. Involve in the development, including design, Modeling and commissioning.

     • Support Operator training simulator Project

6. Alarm management • Support PCE manager to ensure the alarm management procedure has been applied to all companies within PTTGC

     • Provide support and advise on alarm management

     • Be the facilitator for alarm review study

7. Process Control Engineer development

     • Provide Process Control training to other

8. Knowledge management

     • Share Process Control knowledge. Ensure the Process control knowledge has been stored and shared properly.

     • Support the Process Control conference/workshop.

9. Other PTTGC plant support

• Provide technical support to other PTTGC plant on process Control application (base layer control, advanced process control, safeguarding system, online optimization, operator training simulator, alarm management and oil movement system), covering both new process control project and maintaining/modification the existing process control application for long term sustainability.
