Job Summary

  • Support the achievement of marine operational goals by planning, supervising, and monitoring day-to-day operations to ensure safe, continuous, efficient, and reliable execution in line with operational plans.
  • Control and coordinate marine operational activities, including work processes, maintenance interface, emergency response, and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Support the development of operational personnel and contribute to the improvement of work methods, operational efficiency, and overall performance of the responsible unit.

Job Description

1. Production Planning and Operations

Participate in setting goals, planning, and monitoring production operations of assigned production units to ensure that the plant can consistently produce and deliver products with required quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in alignment with production plans.

  • Set objectives; prepare production operation plans and budgets in accordance with company goals and policies, and continuously monitor performance.
  • Control production operations to ensure that factory operations are conducted according to the approved plans and that all products meet quality requirements and are ready for delivery.
  • Propose and support corrective actions, including equipment or production process modifications, to improve efficiency or resolve issues in the production process (Plant Modification).
  • Participate in supervising, inspecting, and monitoring operational conditions, including basic equipment maintenance (BEC), and notifying equipment repairs when abnormalities occur.
  • Coordinate with Shift Managers to ensure operations are carried out in accordance with established goals and plans.
  • Analyze problems and identify solutions, including opportunities to improve efficiency in collaboration with other related functions.

Establish and review work methods, including Work Instructions, Procedures, and other relevant documentation for the production unit.

2. Safety, Environment, and Community Management

Participate in managing and controlling safety for both employees and all personnel working within the factory, as well as ensuring operations do not cause any impact on the environment and surrounding communities.

  • Comply with safety, environmental, and quality assurance plans, including operational guidelines to prevent and correct plant incidents or accidents.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to develop environmental management plans that may impact surrounding communities.
  • Control operations during emergency situations within the production unit in accordance with the emergency and crisis control plan to restore normal operations.

3. Management System Compliance

Control and ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and requirements of management systems such as QSHEB, ISO, and related systems.

4. Gate Keeper Role Coordination

Participate in setting operational goals related to the Gate Keeper role in coordination with the Maintenance Department.

  • Coordinate with maintenance planners for maintenance activities and troubleshooting foreseeable issues.
    Verify equipment condition for maintenance (MN) release requests and identify operational activities required during maintenance periods.
  • Determine schedules for special and complex non-routine work orders.

5. People Management and Development

Participate in managing, controlling, and developing personnel within the department to ensure efficient operations.

  • Participate in planning training programs to enhance employees’ knowledge and expertise in machinery operations, and to develop personnel capabilities.
    Follow up to ensure achievement of set goals, including the application of management tools in line with company policies.

6. Other Responsibilities

Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a marine-related discipline.
  • Marine Certificate, preferably Master Mariner Certificate of Competency.

Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in marine operations, terminal operations, vessel operations, or related operational environments.
  • Proven experience in supervising day-to-day operations, coordinating with maintenance teams, and supporting operational planning and execution.
  • Experience in safety, environmental, and quality management practices within industrial, terminal, or marine operations.
  • Experience in emergency response coordination, operational troubleshooting, and work procedure control is preferred.
  • Experience in leading or coaching operational personnel is an advantage.
