Job Summary
1. Price risk management for crude/feedstock, petroleum products, petrochemical products of PTTGC
- Conduct hedging to manage risk of
-
- crude oil price movement (inventory, fuel and loss),
- refined products price movement (Products crack spread), and
- petrochemical feedstocks and products price movement (naphtha, polymers, aromatics products)
by using derivative tools and future contract to achieve business plan and company’s target performance.
- Manage all trade processes (contract management and settlement) and report to management and other counterparties, such as Bank of Thailand, to comply with risk management policy and regulation.
- Prepare and report hedging progress/results to related committee such as Value Chain Management Committee (VCM), Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) monthly, Risk Management Committee (RMC) to comply with risk management policy on weekly, monthly and quarterly.
2. Lead and manage ISDA negotiation (commodity part) with counter parties (Banks and Traders) to strengthen company and subsidiaries hedging capability and portfolio.
3. Explore and develop hedging service to PTTGC’s subsidiaries through shared service agreement or other contracts by using PTTGC’s strength and competitiveness on knowledge and counterparties portfolio to manage or minimize price risk.
4. Initiate and Liaise internal related parties within MCS to develop MCS risk management profile, Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and mitigation plans including monthly monitoring and report to ERMC and RMC.
5. Contribute in PRISM workstream to strengthen cooperation and synergy in risk management among PTT group’s companies.
Job Description
1. Price risk management for crude/feedstock, petroleum products, petrochemical products of PTTGC
- Gather market information and analyze price trend in both fundamental (such as demand/supply balance, planned and unplanned shutdown, trade flow, seasonality and related statistic information) and technical view (such as Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), Relative Strength Index (RSI), Fibonacci Ratios, Trend Lines including forward price analysis).
- Conduct hedging strategy, including proposing to Value Chain Management Committee (VMC) to get management approval, and explore/monitor opportunities to execute to minimize price risk and achieve business plan/company’s target performance.
- Manage all trade processes (contract management and settlement) including full confirmation, internal approval process to sign contract and settlement including liaising between finance team and counterparties.
- Prepare and report hedging progress/results to related committee such as Value Chain Management Committee (VCM), Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) monthly, Risk Management Committee (RMC) to comply with risk management policy on weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Liaise with Bank of Thailand (BOT), through Commercial Bank, to get approval on commodity hedging and quarterly report to comply with money transfer monitoring control and regulation.
- Manage International Swaps and Derivatives Association Schedule (ISDA Schedule) negotiation with new counterparties (banks and traders) to strengthen hedging capability and product portfolio.

- Conduct compliance on Know Your Customer or KYC process, the process of a business verifying the identity of its clients and assessing potential risks of illegal intentions for the business relationship which governed by bank regulations and anti-money laundering regulations, to assess all relevant information for counter parties evaluation. Manage and control information exchange such as Memorandum of Association, Registration certificate of the company and Partnership, Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), Company’s financial statement etc. Including cooperate with lawyer to review Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Lead negotiation on term and condition with new counterparties to develop mutual ISDA Schedule

3. Explore and develop hedging service to PTTGC’s subsidiaries through shared service agreement or other contracts by using PTTGC’s strength and competitiveness on knowledge and counterparties portfolio to manage or minimize price risk.
- Share knowledge on hedging concept, tools and strategy
- Manage all work processes to get approval from internal and external parties for hedging process such as Subsidiary’s board committee, Value Chain Management Committee (VCM), Bank of Thailand (BOT), etc.
- Provide risk management solution when get requirements from subsidiaries.
- Conduct contract management and settlement
4. MCS risk coordinator
- Initiate and Liaise internal related parties within MCS to develop MCS risk management profile, Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and mitigation plans including monthly monitoring and report to Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) and Risk Management Committee (RMC)
- Develop intensive mitigation plans with risk owners in uncertainty and volatility situation.
- Support Business Continuity Plan (BCP) activities among MCS and Corporate Risk Management and Internal Control System (S-RC).
5. Contribute in PRISM workstream to strengthen cooperation and synergy among PTT group’s companies
- Share hedging knowledge, technique, idea and system in monthly meeting to strengthen hedging capability among PTT group’s hedging team to adapt for better performance.
Education
Bachelor or higher in Engineering, Chemical Technology, Science, Petroleum / Petrochemical Technology, other Engineering discipline or Economics, Business Administration
Experience
More than 5 years Petroleum / Petrochemical Business, Economics and Marketing
